Demagnetizing
- Parts may possess a residual magnetic field as a result of operation or inspection. Demagnetization is required when the intensity of this magnetic field exceeds specification allowances.
- Demagnetization can be accomplished by a number of different techniques. The two most common techniques involve passing the part through a coil energized with alternating current, or by wrapping the part in a cable energized with a decaying direct current.
